Food & Beer Pairings that are Far from Ordinary.
2013 BEER DINNERS are on the Third Tuesday of the Month
May 21st New Belgium & the Lips of Faith Series Beers
First- Portabella Mushroom Rockefeller- Portabella Cap stuffed with Spinach, Bacon, Red onion, Parmesan Cheese & drizzled with Hollandaise paired with Heavenly Frijol Belgium Tripel Collaboration with Dieu De Ciel- this heavenly Tripel brewed with hibiscus & feijoa fruit, from the mango family Strong tropical fruit aroma with mango, pineapple and grapefruit. Bubbly brownish copper with large foam. Interesting fruity flavor. Tons of tropical fruits topped off with Belgian yeast. Very dry finish with some hops, biscuit & caramel.9% ABV
Second- Spring & Dandelion greens, dried apricot & cranberry, almonds, goat cheese crumbles and a light vinaigrette paired with Paardebloom- Using dandelion greens to bitter a Belgian-style ale blossomed from our brewers collaborating with Red Rock Brewing. These being our sixth interpretation together since 2008, expect a wonderfully complex ale fermented with wild Belgian yeast and blended with just a touch of wood-aged beer. Bitterness imparted from dandelion greens and grains. 9% ABV
Main- Boneless Pork Chop with our Homemade Cran Apple Chutney & loaded Au Gratin potatoes paired with Plout-Hook up a plum with an apricot & they’ll make you a pluot. This sweet hybrid fruit is as refreshing as it is strange. Pluot Ale pours a bright, light golden. The aroma is full of fruit tones and distinct esters from blending the funky brettanomyces & the house Belgian ale yeast. The flavor carries the same weight, adding a spicy, vinous subtlety to stand up against the malt backbone. To build a beer around this worldly fruit is purely Belgian in imagination. Pour some Pluot and enjoy!
Dessert-Homemade Hot Fudge Brownie Sundae paired with Imperial Coffee Chocolate Stout A nose of coffee, chocolate & dark roasted malt. Pours a jet black with a mostly diminishing khaki head and spotty lacing. The taste is wonderfully bitter. Robust. Strong black coffee, dark roasted malt, with hints of chocolate. Full body with medium carbonation 9% ABV
