Craft Beer

When Erv first thought about what he wanted to offer his customers to drink, he wanted to serve the beverage he loved the most, beer. But not just any beer, he wanted a fantastic draft beer line up. He ambitiously started out with 20 draft lines, which quickly expanded to 30 lines. He filled them with imports and the infancy of what we know as craft beer today. One of our first beer lists is pictured above, which was viewed as quite the variety for that time. And due to this lack of variety, the tap lines also didn’t rotate as they do today.

When the renovation began in 2009, we created an independent beer cooler that is home to the 32 beers that are currently tapped. The cooler can accommodate an additional 100 barrels, if necessary, plus all the cases of bottles and cans that we carry. Each draft line is paired with a glycol line and custom blending equipment to keep the beer the same temperature as the cooler and to make sure it’s always served with the correct amount pressure.

29 of our 32 taps rotate. We always carry Hacker-Pschorr Weiss, Spotted Cow, and Dragon’s Milk. Our tap list today has evolved from the small punch card shown above to a 4 page, 8.5” x 11” list. It’s also 100% online, just follow & bookmark the link below to find out whenever we switch over one of our lines! The selection might have changed over the last 45 years, but Erv’s Commitment to being on the frontier of the beer market clearly has not.
