Shortly after we opened in 1979, customers were quick to provide feedback that Erv’s needed a Fish Fry. There were no other fish fries in Oak Creek at the time; Heck there were hardly any other restaurants at that time. Erv decided to do a Beer-Battered version, which is the same recipe that we use to this day. Shortly after that, he added a baked fish option and smelt caught right here at Jones Island. While the smelt is long gone, the perch took its place and is my favorite.

Our most popular fish option is the three jumbo pieces of cod dipped in our homemade beer-batter recipe. We also serve the same cod baked in an oven as well as our lightly floured, deep fried perch. These fish frys come with your choice of soup, a side, marble rye bread, tartar, & coleslaw.

We’re very proud to mention that our fish fry has won numerous awards from many different publications over the years. Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, OnMilwaukee, The Shepherd Express, & TMJ4, (just to name a few) have all named our fish fry as one of the best in just the last few years. And it’s not just the Seven Fridays of Lent for us either. You can enjoy our fish fry year-round, every Wednesday & Friday, all day long.
